F. A. Q.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
We’ve put together the most commonly asked questions to give you some useful information.
What are your working hours for tattoos?
Our working hours for tattoos are from 12:30 pm to 8 pm.
Do you take walk-ins?
We may have some availability for walk-ins, however, this depends on how busy we are. If you’d like to get tattooed on a particular day, we highly recommend booking an appointment to ensure there will be someone available to tattoo you.
Are you regulated?
Yes, we are regulated by the City of Westminster. You can find all our licences displayed in the reception area, along with some of the artist’s artwork.
What forms of payment do you take in the studio?
For tattoos, we only accept cash in the studio.
How old must I be to get tattooed?
According to the law in the UK, you must be at least 18 years old to get tattooed. Parental consent doesn’t make a difference regarding this. Please bring ID when you come to the studio.
How do I book an appointment?
To book an appointment, please feel free to get in touch via email through the contact form on our website or just feel free to visit the studio. Make sure to include as much information as possible (the size, body position, style, colour or black and grey) or if you wish to book with any artists in particular, please use the artist’s individual contact form with all the aforementioned information.
I would like to discuss my ideas with an artist, would this be possible?
Of course. We offer free of charge/no commitment consultations with tattoo artists. If you have a design and artist in mind, email us and we will be able to check their availabilities and book you in for a consultation during the most suitable opportunity. These consultations are usually either at 12:30 or 7 pm.
Can I have someone with me when I’m getting tattooed?
You can bring someone into the studio with you, however, they will not be able to go downstairs with you. Please keep in mind that the reception area is not particularly big and if we get very busy, we will ask people who are not waiting for tattoos or piercings to leave the studio. We are within minutes of Covent Garden, Leicester Square and Soho, so there’s a lot of far more interesting things for your friends/family to do instead of waiting in the reception.
What should I do before my appointment?
Make sure you have a good night’s rest, avoid alcohol the night before and ensure that you have eaten something before your appointment. You may be in the tattoo area for a few hours, so it’s important to ensure that you are feeling your best.
How long does it usually take for a tattoo to heal?
The healing process can vary depending on a number of factors such as age, health conditions, etc. however, we estimate that for a healthy individual is about 2 weeks to 1 month until the skin fully regenerates.
Will I need to leave a deposit?
Yes, if you wish to book an appointment, we will ask you for a deposit to secure that appointment for you.
What do I need to do after the tattoo?
The tattoo artists will explain the aftercare to you once the tattoo is done and you will be given all the information in writing as well.
How do you price tattoos?
Tattoos are priced based on design and body position. We take into account the amount of time, the tools that will be required and the intricacy of the design.
Do you tattoo fingers, hands, neck, face, feet?
As a shop standard, we do not tattoo these areas of the body unless you are already heavily tattooed and aware of the particularities and how much having these areas tattooed can affect you. For more information about this, just do a bit of research about the healing process of these areas.
Can I bring my children to your studio?
Children are not allowed inside the studio, this applies to the reception area too. Anyone under the age of 16 will be asked to leave the premises. We apologise for any problems this may cause, however, tattoo studios are not a suitable place for children.
Will you email me the design before I get the tattoo?
As a shop policy, we do not send the designs over beforehand. The tattoo artists work on each customer’s design shortly before the tattoo happens and will have it ready for you when you come to the studio. If you wish to do any changes to the design, that’s absolutely fine and we will make sure that you are 100% happy with the design before starting to tattoo.
Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant/nursing?
If you are pregnant or a nursing mother, we will refuse to tattoo you. Your body is already going through a lot of changes and we don’t want to risk posing any problems to your health or the health of your baby. After 12 months, provided the baby is no longer as dependent on the mother, we can tattoo you.
Can I get tattooed if I have a medical condition?
We will not refuse tattooing someone based on a medical condition, but if you are afraid that it may in some way affect your health, it’s better to speak to your doctor beforehand.
Do you do cover-ups/reworks?
Yes, we do. Most of our artists are very skilled at this. We will ask you to come to the studio for a consultation beforehand to have a word with one of the tattoo artists and discuss your ideas. If the tattoo is very dark/fresh, we may advise you to get some laser removal sessions in order to lighten it up a bit, and then we will be able to help you out.
Will you touch up a tattoo I got somewhere else?
Depending on what tattoo/where in the body it is, we may do it. Please email us photos of the existing tattoo and we will let you know.
Can you tattoo over a scar?
As long as the scar is over 1 year old, we can tattoo over it, however, it is always best to book a consultation to discuss your ideas regarding this and to allow the artist to have a conversation with you about your goals for the tattoo.
I have changed my mind. Can I get my deposit back?
As the information stated in the consent form you filled out when you made your appointment, deposits are non-refundable and non-transferrable, this means you will not be able to use your deposit with another artist, although exceptions may apply at our discretion. Provided you give us at least 48 h notice, we will be able to change your appointment to a later date (for a maximum of 3 times).
Think you need a touch-up?
All tattoos heal up lighter, lose some small contrast and “crisp look” over time as standard. A substantial amount of missing ink that compromises the foundation of the tattoo will be considered for a free touch up, such as missing/broken lines or big areas that have fallen out.
Sadly anything less than mentioned will be considered as standard healing of a tattoo as mentioned above.
We can provide one free touch up on your tattoo providing evidence of what needs to be touched up is presented to the studio with 3/4 weeks.
Sadly any evidence outside of this time will be seen as neglect after the healing process such as sun damage, injury to the tattoo and general wear and tear and will incur a small fee to touch up your tattoo.
We do not offer free touch-ups on fingers, palms or inner lip tattoos due to their problematic healing.
Single Needle/micro tattoo touch-ups.
Single needle tattoos are produced by delicately tickling/scratching the surface of your skin with one tiny single needle to give you the desired aesthetically pleasing affect (no hard bold lines and subtle on the skin).
This style of tattooing has become very popular in recent years due to its exposure from celebrities, actors and those who have had hide their tattoos due to work commitments and who have not been able to get large and bold work.
However, due to the delicate application to the skin and the size of these tattoos, more often than not, you will notice the smallest inconsistencies, that would go unnoticeable in large work.
These inconsistencies happen to absolutely every single tattoo on every single person that has ever been tattooed. This is an imperfect art form which makes every single tattoo unique as the person who wears them.
With that in mind, if your single needle/micro tattoo needs up touch up that consists of a couple of missing dots here or there, this will incur fee.
Free touch-ups on single needle/micro tattoos again, will only be considered if there is a substantial amount of missing ink that compromises the foundation of the tattoo.
